When it comes to red carpet dressing, there's definitely a tendency among celebrities and their stylists to go with options that are not great, not bad, but safe — as unlikely to make a worst dressed list as it is to be particularly memorable. Unsurprisingly, fashion fans are widely disappointed with this fact, but it seems as if Marc Jacobs and Gucci's Creative Director Alessandro Michele are set on changing things with their recent collections, both of which are filled with unique, show-stopping looks that are still wearable.
Both designers have gotten a healthy number of red carpet placements in recent weeks. Lady Gaga, Carey Mulligan, Rachel Weisz and, most recently, Sienna Miller, have all hit it out of the park with looks from Jacobs's spring 2016 collection since it walked last month. Meanwhile, Gucci dressed an impressive number of ladies this week, including Julia Roberts, Chloe Sevigny, Elle Fanning and Keira Knightley, most of whom are ideal brand ambassadors for Michele's quirky-romantic aesthetic. You'll remember that Fanning wore a look from the designer's fall 2015 collection in the September issue of Vogue, and that Knightley's stylist Leith Clark was going gaga over Michele's designs on Instagram during Milan Fashion Week.
